Enhanced DBS Checks

A Criminal Record Check at Enhanced Disclosure level, often referred to as a Enhanced DBS, is the highest level required for positions that can involve caring for, training, supervising or being in sole charge of children or vulnerable adults. Enhanced DBS will include details of all convictions on record, whether spent or unspent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (ROA). This means that even minor convictions, may be included on the Disclosure. In addition to this information, all Enhanced DBS Disclosures involve an extra level of checking with your local police force records in addition to checks with the Police National Computer (PNC) and the government department lists held by the Department for Education and Skills and the Department of Health, where appropriate.
